Dating back to 1850s, Ulysses S. Grant began farming the land which is now a tourist attraction and a home to many exotic and endangered animals. This farm offers touring the land and seeing the animals to attending the shows and dining or browsing for souvenirs in the gift shop.
The farm is named to honor the 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant. Taking the tram through Grant Farm's 281 acres in South County pleases the most urban (or urbane) person looking for a temporary country retreat. The famous Clydesdale horses are stabled here.
The Farm is home to more than 1,000 animals representing more than 100 different species from six continents. More than 22 million guests have visited this popular family attraction during its history. In the 2004, Grant's Farm ranked overall as the seventh- best family attraction nationwide. Admission is free, although parking is rated.
