Dating back to 1890, the Trainwreck in Rock Hill is considered to be the oldest continually operated tavern in St. Louis County. Upon its opening, great care was taken to restore and preserve the structure. The original back bar is still in use today. The Trainwreck in Rock Hill continues to be the definitive neighborhood tavern.

This Rock Hill location opened on July 2, 1982 and is the oldest tavern in the area. Housed in an old 1800s mansion, this tavern/bar/restaurant caters to customers ranging from the average Joe to the elite business professional.

The décor of the tavern is worth mentioning. This train- themed restaurant/bar is filled with historic pieces such as the authentic caboose bar. While dining outside, eat in the gazebo or at one of the redwood- stained picnic tables. The sign outside says "Where the Beer and the Buffalo Roam," although the mounted buffalo head just inside the door would indicate he didn't get very far.

Guests regularly order the bison and ostrich specialties, but the menu has something to appeal to everyone.

Hours : M- Sa 11a- 1a.

Payment Method: Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover.
