LoRusso's has a large following of regulars, and inspires perhaps more zealous devotion than any other restaurant on the Hill, St. Louis' Italian neighborhood. It's just elegant enough to feel like a special night out and it's authentic enough to please Italian food enthusiasts, yet it's a place where diners feel comfortable.The menu is extensive, and it includes helpful but succinct descriptions of each dish. Several vegetarian pastas are available, as well as a nice selection of grilled steaks, chicken, and seafood.

Inspired by his Sicilian grandmother, who used to bake bread in an outdoor oven for trade in the neighborhood, chef and restaurant owner Rich LoRusso created his restaurant with an open kitchen. LoRusso's Cucina Classics include Tenderloin Mudgea, which are breaded and charbroiled marinated tenderloin medallions in a garlic- wine sauce topped with cheese, prosciutto and mushrooms. It's not uncommon to find diners celebrating anniversaries, wedding rehearsal dinners or birthdays. You too can join in.
